Event Description

Intersectionality is a term coined by Kimberle Crenshaw in 1989. It has become familiar for use in illustrating the dimensions and characteristics of inequity. But what is often forgotten is that this concept was developed to improve accountability for discrimination, particularly for discrimination experienced by Black women. In this presentation attendees will gain a better understanding of how intersectionality is important to improving accountability, and how accountability is key to birth justice.
