Event Description

Advancing maternal health requires dignified care, culturally relevant research, and building political power and public will to invest in caregivers and families. Join us for this month’s learning series with two organizations at the forefront of that work. Mothering Justice, which organizes and mobilizes mothers of color to advocate for policies that protect Black maternal health and family economic security, and Vote Mama, which breaks down the barriers moms face in running for office. Together, they model how c3 and c4 strategies work hand in hand to bridge parent and caregiver leadership with lasting policy change—and why funders invested in birth equity need to understand and support both.

About Mothering Justice:
Mothering Justice is nonpartisan grassroots, women-of-color-led multi-state organization working to shift policies and culture to create the conditions for mamas of color, birthing people, and caregivers in the US can thrive. We advocate for affordable childcare, reproductive justice, paid family leave, and access to basic needs because every mama deserves the resources and respect to thrive.
About Vote Mama Foundation:
Vote Mama Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization, is the leading source of research and analysis on the political participation of moms. We are normalizing moms running for office and building a political system that is truly family-friendly.
About Vote Mama Lobby:
Vote Mama Lobby, a 501(c)(4) organization, advocates to break the structural barriers moms face running for and serving in elected office, and mobilizes fed-up mamas to build their political power, elect moms, and pass truly family-friendly legislation.
